French Fries and Dip Sauce
Make crispy, golden French fries at home and pair them with a tangy dip sauce for the perfect snack or side dish.
Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions
- Prepare the potatoes: Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips or wedges.
- Soak the potatoes: Soak the potato strips in cold water for about 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry with paper towels.
- Heat the oil: Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the potatoes: Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes per batch. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Make the dip sauce: In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, vinegar, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
- Serve: Serve the hot French fries with the tangy dip sauce on the side. Enjoy!
